Stonework

The leaf was the first project that my instructor Chris Pellettieri gave me for practice after teaching me the basics of using the three main chisels needed for stone sculpture.  The basics of using the point, the tooth, and the flat chisel were taught by removing about two inches of stone from a stones surface to end up with a perfectly flat surface.  The cross was done after being shown techniques used for lettering, and I thought a cross would be more interesting than a letter.  Both are in limestone.
